George Tyler Straughter is a multi-talented artist, with skills in directing, writing, producing, and acting. He is also the co-founder of GeLia Production Company, located in Hollywood, California. Born and raised in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Lemmie and Linda Straughter, George's love for film came from his parents' constantly exposing him to television and cinema. In high school, he discovered his passion for acting by participating in various productions such as "Li'l Abner" (1993) and "The Music Man" (1994). However, during his junior year, he also felt called to pursue a career in Christian ministry. He incorporated his love for entertainment into his ministry by using elaborate illustrations and theatrics to convey his message. In 2005, he wrote, directed, produced, and starred in the stage play & DVD "Pimpin' Ain't Easy (2005)," which was well-received locally and sold out at conferences where Straughter made appearances. Unfortunately, he was advised by a mentor that pursuing this line of entertainment could hinder his elevation in the ministry. As a result, he put his passion for secular writing and directing on hold for almost 20 years before returning to it later on. During his tenure as the Bishop of New Dimension World Church in Vicksburg from 2004 to 2014, he established A.C.T. I & A.C.T. II (Anointed Christian Thespians), a troupe for adult and youth actors. Under Straughter's direction and training, they toured the country as "Redemption Song." However, this did not satisfy Straughter's appetite for involvement in the entertainment industry. After dedicating 25 years to ministry work, Straughter decided it was time for a change. At the age of 46, he enrolled in film school and is now in his second year at The Los Angeles Film School, pursuing a B.S. in Digital Filmmaking. Straughter just completed post-production on his newest short film, "Reflective" (2024), a dark comedy/fantasy, to be released on August 18, 2024. George Tyler Straughter is reinventing himself and pursuing a new passion in Hollywood, CA, with his business partner/wife, Franshelia Yemaya Straughter, and their family.
